- Joe, Short Sale, 5/9/12
After dealing painfully with a large Orlando based law firm, that shall remain nameless but they go by 3 letters, we found Michael Kara and his AWESOME team! We had been trying for 2 years to get our home loan modified, but were unsuccessful. Finally we decided to go through with a short sale to get out from underneath our upside down mortgage. Michael and his team (Brittany, Teresa and Linda) walked us through the entire process step by step. Teresa even got us a full deficiency wavier. She is FANTASTIC! They returned all calls and e-mails the same day without delay. Kind, patient and sympathetic to all our questions and concerns. We really feel fortunate to have found this diamond of a group! We would strongly and without any hesitation recommend them to anyone looking for help with a traditional sale or short sale. You will not regret it!!!!!!

Homebuilders Snatching Up Lots in Central Florida

With the recent drop in housing inventory in Orlando, and the subsequent rise in home prices, it appears as though homebuilders are seizing the moment to begin new construction projects in the Central Florida area.

The Orlando Business Journal reported that Lennar Homes LLC, Mattamy Homes Corp., and David Weekley Homes LLC spent a combined total of over $20 million on home lots in the Orange County area. All three builders are local to Central Florida.

Given that new home sales rose from 556 in the January-February period of last year to 615 in the same period this year, as well as building permits rising 57% in the metro Orlando area, it is not surprising that builders are looking to expand in the current market.

“If you talk to builders, we’re all becoming more optimistic than we have been in the last five years,” stated Steve Parker, president of Mattamy Homes Corp. “There’s a much better business environment today.”
